2002 Research and Evaluation in the Human Rights Field and Human Rights Advocacy
HREA Distance Education Courses

Announcing two distance education courses that HREA will organise during January-May 2002.  The courses are part of a pilot project in which six courses will be developed and offered to human rights activists and NGO staff fia distance learning mechanisms.  The project is generously supported by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Constitutional and Legal Policy Institute (COLPI).  Participation is free of charge.

2002 International Course on Gender, Organisational Change, Agriculture and Leadership (GOAL)

Wageningen, the Netherlands This course focuses at "mainstreaming gender in agricultural and rural development organisations" and had 3 core themes:
1. Vision, strategies and tools for gender equity planning and assessment in agricultural and rural development
2. Instruments for a supportive organisational structure and culture
3. Leadership and facilitation techniques and methods for managing change processes within organisations.
The course is designed for managers, senior staff, gender experts, trainers and consultants who are expected to incorporate a gender perspective in agricultural and rural development organisations and programmes.  They are men and women involved in decision-making processes within governmental, non-governmental and international orgnisations, rural development projects, and donor agencies.
